Gonna Have a Good Time was the title of this year's Gala Concert and the very first number performed by the eldest of the youth choirs, Vivace, and our very own community choir, Vox Populus. With high-energy choralography and outstanding vocal harmony this piece set the bar high for the afternoon to follow.

Maintaining this standard was no problem for the two youngest groups, Poco Voci and Stella Voce, who delighted the audience with their vocally strong performances and endless supply of cuteness. Stella Voce truly charmed the audience with their use of colourful hand-held lanterns and Kazoos.
Vivace shook things up with their very own cover of Save the World/Don’t you Worry Child by Pentatonix. Vox Populus rocked on and proved to the youngsters that you’re never too old with their whimsical cover of Walking in Memphis and the 80’s hit Let the River Run with Vivace. Vox also touched the hearts of the audience with their emotional rendition of the popular hit Say Something.
QSC’s corporate ensemble More than Words kicked of the second half in style with a seamless performance of the Beatles hit Blackbird followed by an entertaining Motown number Sign, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours.
In addition to the great choir performances, the audience experienced a series of special performances by the winners of this years President’s Trophy Night awards. Ellie Kim, Georgia Blundell, Jacqui Trappett, Anna Kirkman, Hannah Wilson, Daina Dickins, and Belinda Craig touched the hearts of audience members with their outstanding and entertaining performances.
Of course the afternoon wouldn’t have been possible without the dedicated commitment of QSC’s musical directors, Sarah Landis (Poco Voci), Ruth Skippen (Stella Voce), Danny Crump (Vivace), Michael Wilson (Vox Populus) and Fiona Cole (More Than Words). A huge appreciation also goes out to the amazingly talented accompanists for the evening - Connie Lien, Pauline Park, Dale Lingwood, Laurel Muirhead, Michael Wilson, Gregor Schoenberg, and Neale Jerrard. QSC would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in making the afternoon the fabulous success it was, including the lighting and sound team, all the volunteers involved in the bump in and out of equipment, the front of house and backstage helpers, the Michaels for their MC skills, and last but not least the friends and family of those performing for their encouragement and applause throughout the afternoon. Congratulations all!
