Musical Director Bambino Music
Kath is an early childhood music specialist, with a particular interest in interpersonal development. She has been a registered KMEIA (Kodaly Music Education Institute of Australia) teacher since 2000, up until 2014 running “Do Re Mi, Music for Children” classes from her home studio in Manly West, Brisbane. She is the coordinator of the Early Childhood Music program at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, teaching there as well as taking her music program into the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, and the Margaret Cribb Childcare Centre, University of Queensland. Kath offers professional development seminars and workshops to peers and childcare centre carers, and mentors graduates. Keen to deepen her understanding of children’s cognitive, language, social and emotional development, Kath is also undertaking the part-time study of a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) at Queensland University of Technology. Kath believes that singing is every child’s first language, their voices are their first instrument, and that active engagement in collaborative musical activities has far reaching impact on all areas of their development.
